Bullet Points

Hello all. I just wanted to say that my brilliant english degree wife suggested that before I start 'writing' i should do bullet points of all the major story events from the beginning background all the way through so that i know where all the threads are and so i know where to start my story, more towards the middle than the 'beginning'. This makes a lot of sense because most movies or graphic novels are told better when they begin in the present and reveal characters pasts piece by piece as you go through flashbacks or what have you. That way the characters are more mysterious and the readers want to know more about them. What do you think?
